The former Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder is no longer a member of the second division Hannover 96. As the club announced on Thursday, the 78-year-old explained his exit.
96 had previously announced to check an exclusion of Schröders.
Whereas “public statements on the Russian criminal war against Ukraine, his current activity at the Russian group Rosneft as well as the intended activity of the also Russian Group Gazprom” contradict the basic values of the club, it was said.
