Already established in Montreal for a few years, Netease Games entrusted the reins of the studio to Jack Emmert, an industry veteran who notably worked on City of Heroes, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online. The parent company specifies that the first studio will operate independently, to keep creative autonomy in development as well as in publishing. The first project remains entirely funded by Netease Games.
